The Car Picnic

Who says it's too cold in New England to have a picnic in February?  The children and I do it all the time.

What might look like your average SUV front seat....

Is actually the perfect picnic location in disguise.

Josie and I Car Picnic-ed last night after dropping Georgia off at soccer practice.

The school where Georgia and her team mates were practicing was too far away for Josie and I to go home after dropping her off and if we stayed at the gym, we would miss dinner.

The scenario had Car Picnic written all over it.

Josie opened up the picnic basket and inspected the dinner:

A really wonderful Car Picnic hamper would include gourmet delicacies and a mini martini shaker for cocktails, but ours just held peanut butter sandwiches, grapes and potato chips.

It was good enough for us.

.... although I doubt Martha Stewart would approve.

We were warm, cozy and we had Junie B. Jones on the cd player because nothing says Relaxing Picnic quite like the dulcet tones of Lana Quintal doing her best impression of a grammatically-challenged kindergartner.

The car is perhaps not the most ideal or picturesque place for a picnic, but we make do the best we can.

It's just another day in the life of The Elliots.
