The Rest of Our New York Trip

We had such a great time in New York City over Thanksgiving.  After the parade, we went to the Central Park Zoo and said an Elliot hello to the animals who live there.

And when we finished with the zoo, we walked around Central Park and acted like real New Yorkers.

Do real New Yorkers actually eat the soft pretzels sold in Central Park?

We also visited the Natural History Museum, enjoyed a brunch with Grandma's cousin and her extended family, saw the Broadway show "Wicked," and had some great meals.

Our hotel room had the distinction of being almost on top of the famous crane that got smushed during Hurricane Sandy.

This was the view from our room's window:

The hotel also boasted a pretty amazing roof-top pool with gorgeous views of Central Park:

Our children love a good pool and so we went up to the roof three times during the weekend for swims:

I loved the pool, too.  I brought a book with me, but didn't do much reading.  I preferred to sit on my duff and stare out the windows at the park below.

New York is such a wonderful city and it's a great place to travel with children.  We'd love to go back soon.

You're so lucky to have such a beautiful family, and to have seen 'Wicked'

Thank you so much, Magpieme. That is so very kind. I feel fortunate on both counts!

Please stop by again soon!

I'd really LOVE to take my kids to New York on vacation! That rooftop pool looks AMAZING!

Your kids would love NY - especially Annika. This trip was a gift from Gordy's parents - they brought their entire family to NY to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful treat.
