Our Day-Trip Summer: Catching Up With Family

Our Day-Trip summer continued with a trip to Cape Cod to see our Cousin/Nephew Ned at Grandma & Grandpa's house.  Ned is here in Massachusetts attending summer camp and we were eager to see him for the first time since last year.  Ned is 11 now and just a few months younger than Georgia.

Henry and Josie had two things they wanted to do while at their grandparents' house:  They wanted to spend time catching up with Ned and they wanted to spend more time with Ned while swimming with him in the pond.

Grandma has a new water toy - a large, blow-up raft - and the kids were eager to try it out.

The raft took a little time to be inflated.

but it was worth the time, since it was big enough for all three children to use at the same time which created a great opportunity for some cousin-ly bonding.

The night was gorgeous and the sunset was magnificent.  I took a few artsy photos before I surrendered in the battle with the mosquitos (they were winning) and went inside.

These are the situations where a good telephoto lens comes in handy.

It was great to see Ned.  Ned is a fun boy and so easy to talk to:  he has a lot of great interests and a good sense of humor.  We enjoyed our time with him and the grandparents.

It was another great trip.

I couldn't have contained myself, I would have been right out there on that float. It's awesome!

Great that the kids got to catch up :)

There is always a feeling of excitement when you go somewhere with your family. The kids look like they had a lot of time and I especially liked the inflatable raft.

Angie - I know! Normally, I'd be out there, too, but the mosquitos were pretty fierce.
