My holiday blog hiatus is over but now I have a lot of catching up to do. I'll start where I left off - before Christmas. Josie and her cello partner, Eva, played holiday music in the lobby of a local bank. Brooke was still at our house, so she came to watch / listen as well.
Josie and Eva (and the other cello students who participated in the concert) played their instruments in an office balcony that overlooked the bank lobby.
They played a few holiday hits: Jolly Old Saint Nicholas, We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Away In A Manger and Up On A Housetop.
They sounded surprisingly good!
After their performance, the girls went down to the lobby where they stuffed their faces with donuts and had their photo taken with Santa.
I also managed to get a photo of Josie with Brooke, so we would we would have a record of her visit.
The concert was a nice addition to our holiday. It was short but sweet and it was great to hear all the progress that Josie and Eva have made this fall in their cello lessons. Later that afternoon, we took Brooke to the airport so she could fly home to her family in Idaho.
We also had afternoon plans: we met up with Gordy's parents and his sister, brother-in-law and two nephews for dinner in Boston. Gordy captured the grandkids by the hotel Christmas tree.
